Accomplishments

Since its creation in 2010 the Sagebrush Habitat Conservation Fund has helped fund successful voluntary waiver and retirements of federal grazing permits on over 600,000 acres of public lands. The allotment areas retired to livestock grazing are shown on the maps below. Some of these retirements have been carried out in partnership with other non-profit organizations including the National Wildlife Federation and the Wyoming Wild Sheep Foundation.

As of September 2018 the Sagebrush Habitat Conservation Fund is involved in ongoing negotiations for an additional 2,000,000 acres of public land grazing retirements through cooperatively developed agreements with public land ranchers.
